One year ago this month we launched our Varatys website and brand.
It has been a fabulous year filled with advancements to our virtual designer, our brand new “Use Your Own Photo” feature, the introduction of tile patterns, our attendance at Coverings, Surfaces, and the International Builders Show, and so much more!

In May we launched the Varatys Virtual Designer 2.0, at that time we promised to keep you up to date on any additional features. We are excited to announce that we have made substantial updates to our virtual designer.
New Visualizer User Interface
Our new visualizer user interface allows the user to click on a surface (i.e. Floor) and the product tab changes to show the available options.
This change will allow the user to stay within one area instead of moving all over the screen just to add grout or apply a tile pattern, simplifying the process.
New Sub-Category Product Collection Menu
With just a click of that button you can see all the different products within the selected surface drop down from the surfaces menu.
In the new tab user interface there is a “More Options” button when more categories are available for a particular surface. You can also access the sub-category product collection menu by clicking on “show options” in the blue bar below the surfaces. From that point, a user can view products within that collection.
Introducing Brand New Tile Patterns
We’ve been listening very closely to our clients and one of the top requests this year has been to include tile patterns. We are ecstatic to finally announce that we have completed that task.
Once you choose your desired tile in the “Select a Product” tab, you can click on the “Product Options” tab to scroll through and choose your pattern and grout color. The tile sizes are listed in the tile pattern thumbnail. This is a huge advancement! Your users can create a myriad of different patterns with your products or our Varatys generic tiles.
New “One Click Away” Product Detail View
Users are now only “one click away” from accessing your product information. Product thumbnails now have a magnifying feature that will allow the user to get a quick view of the product details.
The user can print the product, access your purchase link (if applicable), view the product on a photo, share it on Facebook, and/or Pinterest.
New Product Detail e-commerce Purchase Link
We’ve been brainstorming how to incorporate more e-commerce tools into the Varatys Virtual Designer. You can now supply links on the Product Detail page. When clicked, a pop-up browser will appear to your website, allowing your users to purchase samples on your website. (This is an optional feature.)
In our example, the link supplied by Benjamin Moore & Co. leads the user to the Benjamin Moore website. Once on their website, the user can then buy samples using the Benjamin Moore purchase system.
With our new Product Detail view your users will always be “one click away” from purchasing your product samples.
New Room Scenes
We have added 24 new room scenes varying from bedrooms to commercial settings! Contact us for a full listing of our room scenes.
New Products: Siding, Masonry, and Roofing
The Varatys Virtual Designer is now offering siding, masonry, and roofing assets. This gives your users more flexibility and options for exterior photos.

We have been making tremendous updates to our Varatys Virtual Designer since its spring release. One of our biggest improvements isn’t seen in the actual application but instead in the analytics report.
We have integrated social media analytics! Your company can now see how many people pinned images to Pinterest, shared your virtual designer on Facebook, and Tweeted about their experience. Social media plays a huge role in product awareness, branding, business development, and lead gathering. Having a virtual designer embedded on your website will allow your customers to undergo a more interactive product awareness experience. It will also allow your customers to create a digital buzz for your company. By sharing their projects they will give their friends and followers a link to your website that has the potential to gain more leads and traffic.

We are very excited to share the newest update to the Varatys Virtual Designer. We are now offering a new search feature on our Product Catalog and our Visualizer pages. Adding search makes the Varatys Virtual Designer more user-friendly and consumer driven. Instead of browsing through each product you and your customers can now search by a specific property. For example, if I wanted to see all the Benjamin Moore purple paint options available I can just type in “purple” and search for it.
Our search feature browses the entire category and not just one collection. This is an added bonus because it exposes you and your customers to more options that they might not have looked for. Check it out for yourself today!

Yesterday we told you about the Kingschest's application of the Varatys Virtual Designer. Today we have even more exciting news to share. Kingschest and the Varatys Virtual Designer were featured in Asian Age in an article entitled: "Get shady with virtual designer".
