A Summer Redesign with Varatys
As another weekend comes forward everyone at Varatys is very excited to have summer weather approaching. While the temps have been yo-yoing back and forth from 70 to 80 degrees we are all anxious about getting some much needed sunshine. Sunday in New England looks to be just that…sunny and 80 degrees! With warmer days and cooler nights it makes me want to re-decorate my sunroom. Late spring is the perfect time to spend evenings sitting in the sunroom with friends and family.
When redesigning any small space I like to start with a dramatic center focal point that I can draw inspiration from. My sunroom is used mostly for entertaining and as a pass through to the backyard. My newest purchase is durable indoor/outdoor rug from JcPenney. I am going to use this piece as my focal point. Because it is such a high traffic area I needed a patterned rug to assist in hiding stains. I love the way the blue, brown, and cream can be applied throughout the room.
Benjamin Moore’s Crème Brulee paint (part of the Color Preview family of colors) is the perfect matching neutral for my room. It is light enough but still has an undertone of warmth to let my other pieces shine. I put together my inspiration board for the project below!
